Grandma Coco

We went to see her last week, she lives in an apartment in an assisted living facility. The maintenance man has to unlock the door to her apartment so we can let her know we are there. We usually end up scaring the heck out of her or catch her getting dressed, using the bathroom...poor thing. This time we walked into her apartment and she wasn't there. Jen ran downstairs and found her talking to a Nun. She was so happy to see us. Her mind is slipping a little but she knew who we were and she remembered the kids. The minute I took the baby out of his car seat she wanted to hold him...all 16 pounds of him! We sat, had lunch and talked. We communicate by writing on a dry erase board so having a conversation can be a bit challenging at times, things get lost in translation. She never complains about anything, she is so upbeat about everything and she's says off color things to make us laugh. She really is a pleasure to be around. There's a lot I can take away from someone like her...94 years old and still the same feisty woman she's always been. She has seen, been through and lived her entire life without hearing a thing. She's one amazing woman!
